How to assemble a water bike and repair and maintain it.

Let’s start building your inflatable water bike (or pedal water bike, pedal boat—whatever you prefer to call this awesome water ride)! Here’s how to do it step by step:

1. Inflating the Floats

A. Take the folded floats, lay them out on a flat surface, and unfold them.
B. Make sure the valve is in an upright position.
C. Grab the pump. Connect the pump hose to the gauge housing (the side that shows the inflation level) and tighten it up. (1)
D. Unscrew the valve cap on the float (turn counterclockwise). Attach the pump hose to the valve, then turn the pump connector clockwise to lock it into place. (2)
E. Start pumping air into the floats. Try to keep a good posture and use the pump’s leverage while inflating.
F. Once inflated, turn the pump half a turn counterclockwise to remove it. Finally, screw the valve cap back on (clockwise)—this cap is what keeps the air tight, so don’t skip it!

Quick tips:

  • The right pressure for these floats? Max 1 bar/15 PSI (=1000 mBar). Don’t go over that—you could damage them!
  • For easier frame installation, pump a little air into the floats first. Once the frame is attached to the floats, you can finish inflating them.

2. Assembling the Frame

A. Put together the bike crossbars. Line up the screw holes on the frame with the holes on the crossbars.
B. Insert the long screws (②) into the holes and secure them with nuts (①).
C. Attach the pedals. Use the black hex wrench to turn the inner nuts of the pedals, connecting them to the pedal crossbars.
Heads up: The pedals have a left and a right—check the marks on their inner nuts to get them right!

D. Install the handlebars. Open the front clamps on the frame, slide the handlebars in, then close the clamps. You can adjust how tight they are using the clamp nuts.
E. Put on the seat. Same idea as the handlebars: Open the seat clamp on the frame, slide the seat in, close the clamp, and tighten the clamp nut. Adjust the tightness with the same nut.

3. Attaching the Frame to the Floats

A. Place the assembled frame on top of the floats. Stick four Velcro strips to connect the frame to the floats.
B. Unscrew the nuts from the hooks. Hang hook ① on the float’s bottom ring, line it up with the crossbar’s screw hole, and push it through the hole.
Screw nut ② and nut ③ onto the hook—nut ② goes on the bottom, nut ③ on top.
C. Do the same on the other side of the float. Each crossbar needs two hooks (①) to stay secure. Finally, use these hooks to attach all four crossbars to the floats.

4. Installing the Propeller

A. Get the propeller. Remove the nut from the rear of the water bike frame.
Insert the screw into the rear propeller bracket, tighten it with the black hex wrench, and adjust the propeller’s height.
B. Connect the propeller’s inner hex screw to the hex post at the end of the frame, then slide the propeller into the frame.
C. Lock the clamp.
D. Clip the safety latch into the rear hole.

5. Adding Accessories

A. Mount the bike basket base to the middle of the handlebars.
B. Attach the basket to the base.
C. Lock it in place.
D. Connect the phone holder base to the handlebars.
E. Attach the phone holder to its base.
F. Mount the water bottle holder on the side screw hole of the water bike.

Repair Tips

If your floats get a tear, use the patch from the repair kit—here’s how:

  1. Deflate the float completely, lay it flat, and let it dry.
  2. Cut a patch that’s 5cm bigger than the tear.
  3. Clean the area with alcohol.
  4. Apply three coats of adhesive to both the patch and the float. Wait 5 minutes between each coat.
  5. Stick the patch over the tear. The adhesive works fast, so get it right the first time! Use a roller to make sure it’s flat.
  6. Wait 24 hours before inflating again.

Care & Storage

  1. Before storing, rinse the floats and frame with clean water and let them dry completely to stop mold.
  2. If keeping your inflatable water bike outside, lift it off the ground and cover it with a waterproof tarp to protect it from the sun.
  3. Store it in a clean, dry spot.
